“Home from Home”
Reviewed 30 September 2011 Very welcoming. Cup fo coffee on arrival was a nice touch. Room very comfortable, wifi very handy. Breakfast very good. Will stay again. Stayed September 2011, travelled on business.
“Welcome - this is your home from home!”
Reviewed 22 May 2011 I am 100% in agreement with fellow reviewers here about the genial hospitality of the proprietor, Chris Breheny. She strikes the right balance between lavishing attention on you and letting you feel comfortable in your own space in her home. Nothing is too much trouble: the first time I visited, I was coming down with something viral and was feeling rough. Chris kindly knocked on the room door and asked if there was anything she could do: she found extra blankets and a hot water bottle! Such care and attention is hard to come by these days. In total, I have stayed twice: both times, the rooms were spotless and bathroom facilities exemplary. The dining room is spacious with peaceful views of the back garden and breakfast TV in the morning if you want to pay it attention. On one occasion, Chris was able to make the living room available to sit in, in the evening, which was a nice touch. Kindness like this puts Chris streets ahead of the local competition, where there is little choice but to stay cooped up in your room if you don't want to spend an evening outdoors in the town centre. It is true what another reviewer has said: blink and you wouldn't know Chris' place was there on Grange Road, but surely that's part of it's charm? Stayed March 2011, travelled solo.
“A great place to stay - a real home from home”
Reviewed 7 April 2011 I had the pleasure of staying at Chris's lovely home on business. From the moment i walked in Chris was welcoming and couldnt of been more accomodating with a nice cup of tea to help me unwind after a long journey. I was forunate enough to enjoy Chris's cooking whilst staying and im pleased to report she is as good a cook as she is host. The guesthouse was great for links to the main motorways and roads around the area, but also on a quiet road so a peaceful nights sleep was guarenteed. I would gladly stay here again and can happy recommend Appletreewick guesthouse to anyone who is looking for a very comfortable place to stay whilst enjoying a personal and friendly atmosphere. Room Tip: Room 1 is excellent.
“Couldnt have been more welcoming”
Reviewed 31 March 2011 The owner Chris is delightful - made us a cuppa the moment we arrived which we enjoyed in her lovely conservatory. Bedroom wa immaculately clean, shower was hot and powerful and beds very comfy. I mentioned I drank decaff tea and at breakfast Chris had been out to get some for me!! Walking distance of a great Indian restaurant. Really easy for NEC. Thanks Chris - if ever we are in Birmingham we will stay with you. Stayed March 2011, travelled as a couple.
“Wonderful weekend”
Reviewed 20 February 2011 We have just returned from a wonderful two nights in this Bed and Breakfast. From the moment we walked in and were offered a cup of tea to the moment we left, we couldn't have been looked after any better. Chris is very welcoming and her rooms and bathrooms are spacious and spotless. Any combination of breakfast seemed to be no problem either. I would definitely stay here again and look forward to it at some stage. I would have no problem recommending this Bed and Breakfast to anyone. Stayed February 2011, travelled as a couple.
“A comfortable and excellent value bed and breakfast in Solihull”
Reviewed 28 January 2011 Following two visits, I would recommend this Solihull bed and breakfast to anyone. Chris gives a warm welcome ( and a cup of tea if you need it ) to the excellent en suite accommodation. Well located for direct access to central Solihull and all amenities both in Birmingham and beyond. Appletreewick has good rail, bus and road links. It is convenient for Birmingham Airport, the National Exhibition Centre and the many delights of the greater Midlands area. An excellent breakfast crowns your stay. The inclusive price per night is very competitive and in many respects offers much better value than say, Travelodge and Premier Inns. One criticism, the nameplate ' Appletreewick ' could be more eye catching (not larger!) especially if, at night, you are a stranger to the area. Geoff. Stayed October 2010, travelled as a couple.
